Wooden chest, decorated with engraved metal plaques, fixed by means of silver spherical studs. The iron parts are mainly rusty, while the bronze ones are covered by a layer of verdigris.
Typical trinket of the Tuareg, berbera population that dominated the trans-Saharan trade in the past, it was used as a container during the long journeys on the back of camels.
