Civic Museum Paleontology and Palaeo-ethonology “Decio de Lorentiis”. Human like
pulley. Ethnic Craft, north western Africa. 19th - 20th century.
Human like pulley with two lateral female heads and motif carved on the two main faces.
The human like loom pulleys are a characteristic element of the ancient tribes Gouru and Senufo, often difficult to distinguish from one another also because of the identical craft style and technique. The finding can be compared to some two faced Senufo head pulleys.
